People experiencing homelessness deserve respect, love,
truth and support.
Everybody should have a choice of where and how they live,
and homelessness should never be someone’s last or only choice.
Homelessness is the result of a change of life circumstances,
often beyond a person’s control, and impacts on a
person's ability to participate fully in the community,
and to enjoy basic rights and freedoms.
People requiring mental health support are often limited by cost, and long wait times for affordable counselling services.
Ever since I came in to see you I have felt welcomed and supported by this team of selfless volunteers. I have had my share of struggles in life, and without the resources and support that you provided me with, I most likely would not have a roof over my head or a more optimistic outlook on my life or my future, today. This is a good organisation, with good people, doing great things for a community that is facing significant challenges. I have attended the volunteer training course and have seen first hand how seriously they take the homelessness crisis, and how passionate they are about offering a helping hand to those who need it most. - I have been receiving counselling since Lotus has begun. Lotus have also advocated for me on occasion when needed, and even found a home for my daughter. They are amazing networkers, connectors, and multi taskers. Always there with a smile, respect, and a contagious positive uplifting energy! Lotus is a fantastic resource here in Mandurah.
